Capgemini has significantly bolstered its capabilities in the competitive Finance and Accounting Business Process Outsourcing (F&A BPO) market with its recent acquisition of order-to-cash (OTC) services provider Vengroff Williams and Associates (VWA). Our only surprise at HfS is that is took so long for one of the top tier BPO providers to acquire the 45-year old heritage accounts receivables and OTC specialist. We believe VWA was one of the few remaining F&A services jewels that the major BPO providers needed to seriously consider to bolster their presence and capabilities in OTC. We believe Capgemini will reap the benefits from their investment.
VWA has a multitude of attractive clients at the enterprise level, such as Yamaha and Fox, in addition to a raft of mid-sized clients – with notable depth in the media, consumer good, retail and hi-tech industries. Moreover, VWA adds significant onshore service capabilities, particularly in the US, having resisted the temptation to develop offshore delivery in recent years. HfS views VWA’s onshore delivery capability as a major differentiator as clients needs a smart balance of onshore, nearshore and offshore support to receive comprehensive F&A solutions.
