Which Service Provider Owns the Minds of IT Executives in 2013: IAAS, Hybrid Cloud Services, and SaaS

Vendor mindshare is quickly becoming an additional indicator for predicting swift changes in dynamic IT markets. Based on the mindshare survey results, HfS concludes that the vendors most liked by IT executives for IaaS and hybrid cloud services in 2013 are: (a) Amazon Web Services, (b) IBM, (c) Accenture, (d) CSC, and (e) BT Global Services. While IaaS pure plays did not earn a big mindshare (only two in the top 20), telcos did remarkably well (10 in the top 20). The vendors with the highest mindshare of IT executives for SaaS in 2013 are: (a) Salesforce.com, (b) Google, (c) SAP, (d) Oracle, and (e) Akamai. Important to note here is the high mindshare result of the two dominant global business apps vendors, namely SAP and Oracle. Both companies were relatively slow to adopt the SaaS paradigm and only jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago.
