Business Process Migration Failures

Home » Research & Insights » Business Process Migration Failures

Migrating to the Cloud (and becoming Cloud Native) is a hot topic within every enterprise. Yet, while adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud is rising, it is still too focused on technology lift and shift. Responses from over 800 technology and business executives show that over 60% are still unsure how business processes can be successfully moved to this new media.

  1. Only One-Third (34%) of respondents indicate their organization has moved business processes to the cloud and many of these are low level processes providing some value, but not empowering the cultural shift to become truly Cloud Native.
  2. With Two-Thirds (66%) of responds are still prioritizing or at loggerheads with what business processes can be moved Hyperscalers and Services Providers need to step up their efforts to educate the market on how doing so leads to differentiation and a better customer experience.
  3. Inside the Data: 62% of Business respondents indicated that they haven’t fully bought into the Public Cloud as a catalyst for innovation!

The HFS Bottomline. We are at a juxtaposition between Digital Transformation (technology led services and workload cloud migration e.g., lift and sift) and the cultural shift of becoming Cloud Native. If business leaders only see the cloud as a technology solution, they’ll will fail to adapt to how market and customer change continues to accelerate.
