Two-thirds of organizations don’t fully achieve their strategic objectives for transformation enabled by the cloud. The two key reasons why Cloud-enabled transformations fail are misalignment of technology and business objectives and a lack of understanding of the cloud target operating model. Against this background discussing the evolution of the cloud market in general and the relevance of Industry Cloud in particular must be about aligning cloud to business objectives and different engagement models rather than evangelizing capabilities (as described by HFS here).

This roundtable will explore the extent to which enterprises consider embracing Industry Cloud to help them achieve their strategic objectives and thus capture business value from their investments in the cloud. The topics that we will discuss include:

  • Future state: What are the outcomes of transformation and how should organizations think about the future state? How does Industry Cloud fit into those discussions?
  • Vertical integration: What do Industry Clouds need to entail to accelerate transformation? Can data integration and sharing, collaboration, real-time messaging, and document-sharing capabilities provide the vertical integration that organizations crave?
  • Ecosystem mindset: Industry Cloud must foster a collaborative environment where different stakeholders can come together and share ideas, insights, and expertise. This collaboration can drive innovation and disruption within the industry. What are the best practices for achieving this?
  • Talent transformation: Workforces need to be trained on new technology skills and equally on completely new forms of collaboration. It is here where transformation so often fails. Thus, what can we learn from organizations that have mastered this?

We are keen to examine case studies and use cases across a broad set of industries.
